Supalite Lamination. (One side high speed Lamination)
replacing Adhesive Lamination

We offer two methods for high volume 1 side lamination: The traditional method involves application of an adhesive to a plain unglued film then application of the film web through a nip roller system to plain or printed paper and card stock - Adhesive Lamination. Originally cellophane films were used - 'celloglazing' - but more recent times have seen polypropylene (BOPP) and Polyester (PET) become the films of choice due to high gloss, clarity, and low cost. Application of a laminating adhesive to an unglued film opens many options with specialised film types for packaging.
Pre-glued thermally activated films are now the most common for Graphic Lamination due to ease of running and high machine speeds this method for processing is most popular. Machinery costs are lower due to simplified nature, makeready and changeovers are faster. SUPALITE Material costs are also now much closer to traditional adhesive materials than they were 20 years ago when we first started running this process commercially.
In Jan 2004 we installed our Diamond 102 Laminator, the biggest and fastest sheet fed laminator in the country. In Dec 2007 we installed our second Lamtex laminator from Cellcoat of the UK to further improve our service. We now boast the largest capacity of any plant in New Zealand. To cope with the extra space requirements we have moved to new purpose built premises.
True adhesive lamination required up to 3 operators per line to achieve maximum productivity. Our Diamond 102 Thermal SUPALITE line needs 1 operator and produce up to 4 times faster with no handling of printed sheets when running pallet to pallet operation.
In 2006 we made a conscious decision to focus on quality over low cost with materials. We have now committed to buying film by the container load to give us cost advantages, and from the best manufacturers in the world. The improvements with gloss levels, adhesion, and ease of use have justified this decision.
We offer unmatched quality, productivity and service to our customer base, primarily in the South Island of New Zealand.
Typical uses include: Post cards, book covers, posters, presentation folders, packaging.
We also provide specialised Window Lamination for pre diecut sheets, and we offer a range of specialised films with unique properties for heat seal packaging, food grade ovenable films, microwave browning films, and metallised films for decorative packaging and printing.
